Taking Care of Yourself in Uncertain Times

How are you doing? I hope you are taking good care of yourself during this challenging time. I have had my ups and downs, as I'm sure you have to.

Many women I have spoken with have expressed concerns about their sleep, their emotional well-being, and how to handle anxiety about all the uncertainty we are facing.

I can totally relate to all of those issues and want to share a practice that has helped me stay calmer and more grounded during this crazy time.

Check-in with yourself, close your eyes, put your hand on your heart, and ask, "what are 3 self-care essentials I need for my emotional well-being at this time?"

Breathe and take time to see what bubbles up. There are no right or wrong answers as long as they truly support your health and emotional well-being.

Here are my personal top 3 self-care essentials:

▪ Go outside and connect with nature.

▪ Connect with family and friends by phone, zoom, or text.

▪ Move my body.

Yours might be totally different. They can be simple things such as getting dressed, take a shower, have a dance party, read, or whatever your heart is telling you.

Once you have an idea of what they are, find time to do them. Schedule your self-care essentials in your calendar if you notice yourself forgetting to do them. Be kind to yourself. This is not meant to be a strict "to do" list but a loving reminder to take care of yourself.
